The Indigenous Governance Awards (IGAs) identify, celebrate and promote effective Indigenous governance, which is about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people making and implementing decisions about their communities, lives and futures.
The Awards were established by Reconciliation Australia in partnership with BHP Billiton Foundation in 2005 and are now co-hosted with the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute.

Reconciliation Australia acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have since passed away.
