The Indigenous Business Month runs annually from the 1st to the 31st October to celebrate and acknowledge Indigenous Business across Australia. This event was started by the alumni of MURRA Indigenous Business Program at The University of Melbourne, who had a desire to not only to celebrate Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs, but also acknowledge their contributions to community and provide positive role models for young Indigenous Australians.
This event was first celebrated 5 years ago and has grown quickly, with events now being held across the country. Find out more about events happening near you, visit Indigenous Business month website. If you are an Indigenous entrepreneur or professional and would like the tools to grow your business, visit The University of Melbourne to find out more information about MURRA Indigenous Business Program.
This Indigenous Business Month we would like to acknowledge our past Indigenous Governance Awards (IGA) winners. These Indigenous led businesses, projects and initiatives received an award for their excellence in governance. Next year we will be hosting the IGAs again, in partnership with AIGI. Applications will be opening soon.
